Class of 1984 (Older Messages)

It is truly great to be alive. WE are getting to the age where we shouldnt take thing for granted anymore. There are more days behind us then are ahead. Innocence of youth gives way to sacrifice for the future of our children. Oh well..... those were my thoughts at this particular moment as the kids are running through the house, wife driving me crazy to help clean house. I think i'll play golf.

Just curious if anyone will be in town for the holidays and if any gatherings are planned.

Vitals - I live outside Chicago, am still single & for a living develop real estate. I apologize for missing the last reunion but will be sure to make the next.

Just went throught the pics of the last reunion & had fun trying to recognize folks without my yearbook.

Some people changed, but i was impressed by some still looking the same. like Joey Mcphail, dude you were the coolest. Mike Turanski, and the hottie but snotty Terri Parnell. Some those fine chicks who wouldnt even look at me in high school look like old hefers now. And I grow more handsome as I grow older. Ron Durbin, I used to be scared of him (NOT), but his belly is as big as mine. But you still look good.

ALso props go out to Lisa DeSantis. Back in the day she and sabo (dont remember her first name) had the cutest shaped Buttocks before big Butts were cool.

Also big muscle head roid rage Zimmy, I remember Vincent Sisco (god rest his soul) punched you in the mouth when you weighed 150 lbs.

Bill Mcarthy, you were so sensitive then. that bald head is you, HEY wasnt you the subject of a story in the police section of the pasco times.

Denise Dassau, now thats a name i remember. I think she lives on the same block as me in veterans village back in 82. nothing bad to say about her except she was fine lookin.

Well anyways everyone looks good. My memories of Gulf High are fond. I never got beat up (dad was a well known cop) and only got called N*gger a few hundred times. I hold no animosity. I didnt mind sitting alone during lunch and hanging out with the "lodies" because i wasnt good enough to hang with the "jocks". Some poeple were cool some people were nasty to me indeed. If you people knew me now Youd like me, but back in the day being black wasnt cool. Micheal Jackson wasnt even popular then. I dated this girl once ( i wont say her name) but we couldnt tell anyone. New Port Richey was country then.

The world has changed much since then and i hope some of you have become more racially tollerant. But now i have 3 boys and a girl, married,and i have a theater in my house. I travel around and am into mountainbiking. Journey is still my fav rock band (no i dont listen to rap). well any way i hope i didnt offend anyone.

Please feel free to respond because all i hear in this forum is the good things about high school but in all of us there were at least some bad memories.

Sorry I missed you all at the reunion! Living on the onther side of the world makes it hard to come home. Mom and dad actually arrived last night for a visit. They will be missing Ivan. I will keep all of you in my prayers! I have three children Sara 11, Sidney 9 and Steven 6. Hope to hear from you soon!

The 20 year reunion was such a success, we don't think we can wait another 10 years for the next one, so mark your calendars for December 23rd for a holiday dinner/get-together. The following are a la carte prices and are available for a short time only. If you are able to attend one of these nights, please e-mail us IMMEDIATELY and let us know. Checks must be received by this Wednesday (June 16th) or we will accept cash at the door, however, to ensure we have enough food, we must have your RSVP in hand by Wednesday. Please note that if you have not RSVP’d, you will not be admitted entrance to the grounds and to the Reunion.

The 20-year reunion for the Class of '84 is this summer. We've reserved the Innisbrook Resort for the weekend of June 18-20. We hope you will be able to attend. It's time to make your travel plans, and make your reservations at the Innisbrook (or tell your parents you want your old room back for the weekend).

June 19, 2004, Howard Park at Shelters 5 & 6

10 - 2pm Family picnic - Pit Boss Barbecue will cater the picnic with lemonade and tea. The menu includes chopped beef and pork, buns, coleslaw and potato salad. Hot dogs will be available for kids. Please remember your meal tickets from the reunion packet.
Activities: Softball, volleyball, flag football and relays for adults and children. Please bring your gloves, balls, bats and flags.
Theme/Dress: Come as your favorite Buccaneer (Tampa Bay or Gulf High) or represent your favorite sports team.

Deluxe Guest Room, Junior Suite or One Bedroom Suite $99

This does not include resort fee or taxes. Guests at the resort receive free on-site transportation, daily newspaper delivery, unlimited use of Fitness Center, access to Loch Ness and five other pools, recreation area including miniature golf and nature walk and in-room coffee service with suite rooms. Memory Book: We are compiling a memory book to be distributed at the reunion which will include contact information about each alumni, current photos and messages. You are being asked to send a current photo of your choice (yourself, your family, your pet) and a personal message (what you’ve been doing the last 20 years, hopes & dreams for the next 20, etc.). E-mails of the message and photo are preferred to Classof1984@earthlink.net; however, we understand that many of you may be unable to do so. Messages on the registration form and actual photos will be accepted - please place your name on the back of the photo to ensure correct placement in the book. We cannot guarantee that your photo will be returned.

Participation in the Memory Book is voluntary. If you do not wish to have your current contact information published in the Memory Book, please indicate same on the registration form.

We realize that some of you may not be able to attend the reunion and wanted to provide an avenue for you to still participate. There is a special section in the book for those alumni who cannot attend. Photos and messages will be included for everyone who submits them with the registration form. Memory Books for those attending are included in the cost of the reunion and will be in the attendee’s reunion packages distributed Friday evening. For those unable to attend, the books are available for purchase for $25 each, which includes the cost of shipping. All orders will be shipped out by the end of June.

There will be a reception Friday night from 8-midnight, Saturday picnic from 11am - 2pm and then our banquet from 6-9pm that same evening. Since many may need to fly home or visit families on Sunday, we have planned some optional items for those staying on property or wanting to play golf. Those details will be included in the packet of information.

If you would like to reserve your room early at the Westin Innisbrook, we have special rates on three room types (junior suite, one bedroom suite or double bed deluxe room, all for $99 each night plus taxes. There is an additional $10 resort fee and it covers use of the pools, weight rooms, putt putt center, etc. To reserve your room, please call the resort directly at 727-942-2000 and ask for the Gulf High Reunion special rate. They are honoring the rate until May 18, 2004, so book soon.
