Comments: Wow I was soo shocked to hear about mike. I wasnt friends with him and i didnt grow up with him.
We were in the same photo class, he had some amazing photos, he was always willing to help me and give me advice on
how to take the perfect shot. I sat next to him at Graduation and the whole week of practice he talked about going off
to basic training and how excited he was. Im pretty sure he was one of the best soliders out there.

Comments: I knew Mike since the crazy days at Gulf Middle, we didnt talk much, but we had some nice
chats. He was the best diver I have ever seen, and I know he had to be one hell of a military man. I know we
all feel so deeply for his family. I know no words can help the pain they feel right now. I will pray for
them daily. Mike was a great guy, and the world is a better place because he was here. Rest in Peace Mike.

Comments: Mike was a great guy, and being pregnant again myself I still can't imagine what his wife
is going through. I heard this morning on the radio and just watched it on the news. I looked through old
pics of parties where we were all at in our groups.
My heart goes out to the family and the closer friends as we were just aquantances. But still
I've shed tears for him and his family today.
And I'm praying the rest of our guys come back safe!!!!

Comments: This is to my friends from High School, I'm sure you many of you know Mike Rowe.
Mike Rowe died while serving in IRAQ. He was killed by a Road Side Bombing.
He was a Sergeant in the army and he was in the lead car when the bomb went off. From what I have been
told this happened on Monday. His wife is also 6 months pregnant and he was out of his tour in 3 months.
Please "pray" for all of our friends and family to are over in Iraq to be safe and come home as soon as possible.

Comments: Hello all! I just happined to stumble onto the site and saw this page! I am happy to see that
everyone is doing so well. And to all of the 2001 grads. that we have lost, you will be missed. Its crazy to
think that it has been 5 years since school. Everything is great here. I have to share the road with Amish here
in Pa. and when I am stuck begind a horse and buggy, I have flash backs if driveing on 19 behind an old person! (they
go about as fast) Well I work with animals 27/7! I work 10 1/2hrs with cats and dogs and then another few hrs. on a horse
farm. and when I am not with those guys I am training my new horse Rouger. Me a butt head! Little poop kicked me the
other day I have 2 bug horse hoof bruises on my thigh. Yeah, he got kicked back. hehe! I also work with Animal rescue
through the kennel I work at and we went down to New Orleans and rescued about 40+ dogs and cats. We have currently
placed baout 5 dogs with their original owners. There is no feeling like it! We also had our sup. and manager on the Oprah
show! It was awsome! I love my work I wouldn't traid it for the world. I am also taking up some sports. I am an avid speed
competitor (horses) and I am taking up short track (spaad ice skating). Yeah I have no life! hehe. I like to keep busy. I
also like to take random road trips. I have been to Niagea Falls-I gave 2 of my friends 3 days notice and we just went. Its
not too far from where I live. about 7 or 8hrs. And I went to Toronto twice. Yeah I hit a bear one time! We just duct taped
the car and kept going!!! I have pix! hehe. I love to visit Ocean City but it kinda sucks when I used to live 5miles
from the beach and now I have to drive 3hrs to get to the beach. Oh well. Its a nice ride. Well, my deepest thanks and respect

As for me still single, I’m career oriented graduated with a BS in fine arts studied Interior Design in 2004. I’ve been running the painting company keeping busy. tech support, ran into some bad luck, quit, and now I'm just doing the stay at home mom thing and thinking about
going back to college again to be a nurse. So for now I just work on websites and internet marketing. But am
planning on my 2nd trip to the keys as soon as it warms up and up to NC to meet my boyfriend's parents.
Steven Lesage is over in Iraq again!! But at least he sends awesome pictures, he's also been with a girl from
germany for about a year now, they're thinking of moving in together. He also loves to take his car out to
the (race) tracks. And he's spent some time in ansterdam, lucky man. I'm jealous!

i'm a surgical technologist at mease countryside hospital, going on 4 years now of doing surgery all day long.
i'm still the youngest in the operating room, the job is good. my pay is as much as people who have been doing
this longer than ive been alive are making. i want more out of life though yeah.. the money is good but theres
so much more out there. ive decided to do anesthesia and i will wind up with my masters when it is all said and
done. i have a lot of support around me and already have a job waiting for me when i'm done with school. taking
some basic classes now for a while and then will have to go away for anesthesia school. 2 years.. but its worth it!
life is great no kids..not married... my boyfriend and i are living together and have been together almost a year
and a half. so no complaints here. good luck to all of you god bless you and your families. so sorry to hear about
those we have lost over time they will all be missed. i just found out about this alumni page tonight in class

reading the stuff about Smoot Project Sto, oh the memories! Being an outsider who dated with in
the "elite" group i found it to be very entertaining.
So i went to USF, was a member of Chi Omega during my time there and was very active with in the sorority
and recieved a batchelor's degree in Mass Com television production and programming. I interned at WEDU and channel 13. So
now i'm living back with my parents and looking for a job. I've interviewed with a few people and will be making some

off of active duty this summer and moved up here to Rhode Island and joined the National Guard. I am leaving for Saudi Arabia
on December 14th for 6 months. I am currently attending my third different college majoring in Film/Graphic design. The north

Congrats to all who have gotten married, had children and go on to better things. We are doing well ourselves. I (Mary) got
married last year in Nov. My husband and I just bought a house, I am still employed by the same company I worked @
in high school, tried the college thing and decided 12 years of school was enough.
So in 2002 I got my real estate licence and do that when I have time, it's very demanding but pays quite well. My husband
is currently enrolled in the fire academy. Still no children.
Me (amber) and my fiance just purchased our second home on 5 acres in sprighill, we have a 16 month old son. My fiance

Comments: Hello everyone! Well as many of you know I moved to CA with Chris a few months after we got married. Cali is
cool, but I prefer FL much better. I live right outside Edwards Air Force Base (where Chris is stationed) in a town called Lancaster.
Lancaster reminds the both of us a lot of NPR. Especially the downtown area. So basically we drove across the whole country to end
back up where we started, in the west coast NPR, lol. Anyway, we are doing real well, married life is lots of fun. We actually
just passed our 6 month mark this August. Well I am hoping I will be able to get back to FL sometime soon to meet up with my girly's.

Comments: Well, since Jesse asked what I've been up to, I guess I'll post something constructive. I am
still at SPC, and after 3,000,000 major changes, I've finally decided to major in "Secondary
Biology Education." Yeah, that's right. I am going to be teaching Biology to middle and high
schoolers... I figure that its a starting point. Yeah, being the nerd that I am, I don't plan to
EVER stop going to college {like Pauly Shore in Son In-Law}, and I figure that they'll give me a
few degrees just for showing up ;-)
Apart from school, I still work for the corporate giant 5 days a week, and live in an APARTMENT
(never thought I'd say that) with my life-partner, Geoffrey Stephen (c/o 98). Our "family unit"
is wonderful... Geoff, my kitten Keykey (CKY3) and I... You know its odd, I always thought that I
would move out of mommy's house and into a house on the water with Johnny Depp. Funny how cruel
life is sometimes. And no offense, but screw getting married. Too much commitment. I think Dierks
Bentley said it best, "I still got a lot of leavin' left to do!" And by the way, my book is half-way
finished (i think), and I am pretty sure that this is it. But who knows, I always come up with more storyline to put in.
If ANYONE (and I mean ANYONE, knew me or not) wants to drop a line, I'd be more than happy

Comments: Haven't given an update of any sorts in, I think, 2 years.
I've been keeping meself busy as usual; which is probably why I haven't bothered to do an update. At any rate, I'll go and give one.
I currently live at an apartment in Holiday with a friend of mine, Amber Turner (c/o 2003) and her boyfriend, Jeff. The two of us have been living here for about a year and don't really plan on leaving yet. Jeff had just started moving in here.
There's no plans for to get married with anyone. Perhaps when I'm 30. I don't necessarily agree with people around our ages getting married early on when life has just started and it's the time of self exploration but it's just my opinion. If it makes anyone happy, then that's all that matters. So with that said, I wish everyone who have since gotten married a long and fruitful relationship.
I do have a girlfriend though. She didn't go to Gulf. She graduated from Tampa Catholic. Her name is Kelly Oziemblo. She an English/Humanities major at FSU. We've been dating for 7 months and show no sign of stopping or slowing down though. We both make each other very happy and we're not in any rush to get married or have children. The world is ahead of us and we want to experience every facets of it.
And finally, music career have taken a turn for the better.
I've recently joined a group called The Wholigans. They're the world's longest and most successful WHO tribute band. In case some of you who have no idea who I am talking about; the WHO have provided tv audieces with theme songs for CSI: Who Are You? (CSI), Won't Get Fooled Again (CSI: Miami), Baba O' Riley (CSI: New York). and also have provided numerous hits through out the 60s, 70s and 80s w/ songs such as "My Generation", "I Can't Explain", "Pinball Wizard", etc.
This have been a really great opportunity for me to play various shows with this group. I'm not normally a big fan of tribute bands because for the most part, they're only in it to make a quick buck from aping some well known band. these guys are in it for the music.
Come March, I will be on my first tour with the band. We'll be heading out to the UK to perform a number of shows from March 2nd to the 22nd and then in Germany through out the month of April. I'm very excited by all of this.

In December this Florida born girl is going to Germany and ansterdam!!! (ok so college didn't do me well on spelling)
Steve lesage is out of Iraq and stationed there in germany so I'm going to visit. (Figures in the middle of winter)
Hopefully I won't freeze to death over there!!
My daughter is 3, going trick or treating for the 2nd time this year! Her "daddy" is taking her this year, speaking
of him, Billy Hayes, has another child on the way (not with me, with his girl Aprile)! Due in Febuary! I'm happy for them.
I've got no plans for marriage. Been with my Tampa/Detroit guy for almost a year now. He's very into getting his
career goals before even talking about anything like marriage and children. Which I respect him for, but my guess
is in a few years I'm gonna be fighting him for it, LOL!
Oh and Ryan Rogers' (henson, last name change) band is playing at bourbon street November 7th. Whenever his band plays it
seems like a big high school reunion for some reason, lol! So maybe I'll see some more of you there! Bye!

I am almost 3 months pregnant and its kind of surreal but I am excited.
Me and my boyfriend steve are doing great.

My little brother is doing great too...he lives on his own well with 3 of his
friends but finally on his own.
My best friend Lisa Tirrell and I still talk everyday and we work together...she leaves August
26 to New York to attend a unniversity up there. Pete Musto has been in
Iraq for a while now and he is happily married as well.

but you get the point. I see you guys or try to when i get home you are friends that i have know since kindergarten
first grade (Barb Carr) and middle school. You are always going to be people that i want to hang out with. If that

I think this would be easier if I knew who I was talking to, but anonymity is your choice. I'm trying to understand
where you and Anonymous are coming from regarding the feelings you share. Are you somehow resentful of the existence
of Smoot, or the entire concept of cliques? Or do you pity me and those related to smoot because we somehow missed
out on some aspect of high school? Or are your thoughts some sort of attempt at objective observation? If it is
resentment, all I can say is whatever role Smoot played in your discontent was not intentional. Cliques are inherent
to the High School experience, as well as general interaction in the world. People usually associate themselves with
other people. It's part of being social. I'm sure that you had a group of friends in high school and I don't think
anyone should begrudge you of that. If it is pity, I can assure you I thoroughly enjoyed my high school years,
as did most of my friends. You can sleep well knowing we aren't hung up on missed opportunity. And we are no more
ignorant than our peers just because we have stayed in touch with specific people. I've also stayed in touch with
other friends. Is that wrong too? If it is an attempt at objective observation (I say attempt because there is
obviously some sort of emotion behind it), I think that your comments sound a little too bitter to be considered
impersonal and non-judgemental.
Regarding the self-imposed "ostracism," I don't really know what you are talking about. I had a lot of friends
from different grades and different activities that had nothing to do with "Smoot." The same could be said of
anybody associated with Smoot. I never showed contempt for anybody just because they did or didn't look a certain way,
or because they didn't fit a specific demographic. I think it sounds more like you guys judged people associated with
Smoot for some reason.
And if we were childish and if knowing us was sorry, why do you even care? We didn't wield any special power or
anything. We were just people. There were some people in high school I wasn't crazy about, but I am not about to
bash them in a public forum. I can't deny that some people associated with smoot made their presence known, but that's
just their personality. If you didn't like them, that's your choice and there's nothing wrong with that. But attacking
them here because someone posted an innocent comment isn't right. If speaking your peace makes you feel better and helps
you move on from whatever issues you have with high school, then I am obliged to be your punching bag. You are welcome
to email me with your thoughts, your cheap shots, or any other insults.
Personally, I'm just wondering what you guys are trying to accomplish with what you're saying. If you are trying to
"right the wrongs" of a specific group of your peers, or if you feel you could help us better ourselves because you
are somehow more enlightened, then insults and attacks are counterproductive. If you want to help me or my friends
and show us what we are doing wrong in life, email me. I would be more than willing to have a lengthy discussion
on metaphysics, morals, and social behavior.
Finally, I'd just like to say that perception and reality are two very different things. In my initial response, I
tried to convey what I know as true, being somebody directly associated with Smoot. What anyone reading this chooses
to believe is their right. I just ask that people don't attack me or my friends just because you think we didn't live
our high school years to their fullest potential. As much I appreciate your concern, I think your time would be better
spent on introspective reflection. You have more power to change yourself than to change others. And you obviously
can't change the past, so just try to learn from it. I hope to see you all at the reunion.

whole "smoot for life" deal. There are somethings that I would like to say about this whole situation.
For Anonymous: I do agree with you about "Smoot" being an elite club. It was a group of people that voluntarily
ostracized its members from the students that weren't like them. It was one of the most closed off and naive
clique in our class.
For Innocent Reader: Why is it that you are staying an innocent reader and not revealing your identity?
For Jesse Lamb: "Smoot" wasn't about elitism? I don't think that the people that you went to high school would
agree with you on that. Maybe the only ones that would agree with you on that one would be none other than
the "Smoot" clique. And as for the comment about that it was incidental that some of the people in "Smoot" just
happen to show up on HC and Prom Court and were class officers. That was no accident how some of those people
showed up on court.
As for me, I was there in high school and I knew the people that were in "Smoot" and I've known most of them since
elementary school. Some of them have always acted better than everyone else and some of them started acting that
way when they got together with the others that have always acted that way. I agree with anonymous with the fact
that to know most of the people in Smoot was sorry. Smoot was a club that only certain individuals were "special"
enough to join and I'm not sure if the people in that club knew or not but I'm pretty sure you guys had an idea, but
if not read this now. The people that belonged to Smoot was very much disliked by others. I'm sure you already knew
that but I thought I would just put it out there.

Comments: WOW I am speechless about this whole Smoot deal. I am not going to go into detail about
this whole thing mainly because a good "Smoot" friend Jessie Lamb put everything into perspective for everyone
to see. Well anyway I still love and miss all my friends from high school and enjoy seeing anyone and everyone
so if you are ever in Tampa drop by look me up and say hi. I am doing fine, i have been working 7 days a week
for about 3 months straight, I didnt make enough money in time to live with my life-long buddies Ryan Kennedy
and Joedan Fagan but we are just one mile apart and you can guarantee that we will party hard still. So in saying
