


The Gulf High School Buccaneer Band's Color Guard performs at all football games, parades, and as a seperate Indoor Guard during the winter and spring seasons. They have traveled to Washington D.C., Atlanta, and all throughout the state of Florida for various performances and evaluations. The Indoor Guard has received superiors at their annual evaluation 12 out of the past 14 years since Mrs. Rutherford has served as their sponsor.

The GHS Color Guard took their talents indoors as they prepared for their annual assessment for the Florida Bandmasters Association District 5 Solo & Ensemble Music Performance Assessment.The event was held at Lecanto High School on February 8, 2008. The girls performed to the music from the award-winning musical group Blast! to their version of 'The Land of Make Believe'. After a well-done routine, the Color Guard walked away with their 12th 'Superior' rating in the past 14 years. Guard Captain Blaise Clark also received 'Superior' ratings for her flag and baton solos. Members Tina Christy, Ariel Norris, Molly Hibbs, and Jenna Smith obtained a rating of 'Excellent' for their performance to the music of Billy Joel.
