Morris Rapson, who was an industrial arts teacher at Gulf in the 1980s, died on Jan. 5.

BASEBALL NEWS
This announcement/information is for any student/athlete in grades 9-12 who is planning on trying out for either the junior varsity or varsity baseball teams. There will be a mandatory meeting in Coach Wiemer’s classroom (portable three) after school this Thursday, Jan. 8, from 2:15 until 3:00 p.m. If you are planning on trying out for one of the teams, you must attend this important meeting. —Coach Wiemer.

GHS picture GULF WRESTLERS TAKE THIRD PLACE IN 20-SCHOOL TOURNAMENT
Gulf defeated Belleview 45-34 in the consolation final of the Holiday Tournament on Dec. 19-20. The Bucs had four wrestlers go undefeated over the two days: Jarod Carpenter (103, six pins), Richard O'Connor (112, five pins), Anthony Ayers (119, five pins), and Ladarious Jackson (152, four pins).
