Gulf students place at county math contest

NEW PORT RICHEY, April 5, 2006. -- Three Gulf students placed at the Pasco County Mathematics Contest held at Marchman Technical Education Center today.

They were Alice Chang, who won first place in Algebra II, Matthew Anderson, who placed third in Geometry, and Thanh Tran, who placed third in Precalculus.

In addition, the Geometry, Algebra II, and Precalculus teams all came in third among the nine county high schools.

Students and teams who placed will receive trophies. Alice won a graphing calculator for her first place finish.
