Teachers learn to use Pasco STAR

GULF HIGH SCHOOL, Oct. 9, 2006. -- Craig Dumais Sr. of the school district's Research and Evaluation Services showed some Gulf teachers how to use the Pasco STAR system today during period 7 and after school. STAR (Student Testing and Assessment Reports) allows teachers and administrators to view and sort detailed reports on their students' test scores. Math teachers, for example, can view their students performance on the FCAT, but also see how many questions each student missed on each of the various topics on the math test. Test data going back to 2000 is available. Most Gulf teachers have been using Pasco STAR for several years. Today's training was designed for new teachers and those who wanted a refresher course.
