Hat Day/Jeans Day raises over $700 for ACS

Hat Day, Mrs. Dale, Bryan Bates

GULF HIGH SCHOOL, Feb. 17, 2006. -- Normally students aren't allowed to wear hats in Pasco County high schools and teachers at Gulf are not supposed to wear jeans, but Mr. Imerson waived the rules today for students and teachers who donated one dollar to Gulf High School's Interact Club. Interact Club sponsor Mrs. Dale reports the fundraiser brought in $736.69, all of which will be included in Interact's donation to the American Cancer Society after this year's Relay for Life scheduled for May 5. Mrs. Dale said approximately half the money raised came from students and half from staff, since donations by staff were typically greater than the required one dollar. In the photo above, Interact President Bryan Bates holds some of the proceeds from the fundraiser.
