New science teacher joins the Gulf faculty

J. Len Davidson GULF HIGH SCHOOL, Jan. 16, 2007.—J. Len Davidson is a new science teacher at Gulf. She teaches Integrated Science to ninth graders.

Mrs. Davidson comes to Gulf from the Marine Institute, where she taught for almost two years. She taught ninth through twelfth grades in Ohio before that, mostly at McKinley High School in Canton.

She was born in Akron, Ohio, and received a B. A. degree in Anthropology from Kent State University and an M. A. degree in Education from Akron University.

For thirteen years she owned and managed a vocational school at Mogadore, Ohio, near Kent State University. The school is Northwood Resource Systems, Inc.

Mrs. Davidson has also done research on wild cats. She is considered a leading expert on the Geoffroy's cat, which is native to South America. In cooperation with the Smithsonian Institution and the American Cancer Society, she has done genetic studies on the cat, which she says possesses a natural immunity to leukemia.
