New teacher joins the GHS faculty

GULF HIGH SCHOOL, April 14, 2008.—Alba M. Alvarez joined the Gulf faculty today as a new Spanish teacher. She has taken over Ms. Nazario’s Spanish classes in periods 1 through 3. Ms. Alvarez was most recently the ESOL instructional assistant at Pine View Middle School. She was born in Cali, Colombia, and taught elementary school at Colegio Villegas. She came to the U. S. five years ago and is our third teacher from Colombia. Her daughter attends Land O'Lakes High School. Ms. Nazario now works in the Media Center, but she will continue to teach Spanish during periods 4 and 6 for the rest of this year.
