New Spanish teacher joins the Gulf faculty

Marta Hajdu GULF HIGH SCHOOL, March 26, 2008.—Marta M. Hajdu is a new Spanish teacher who joined our faculty on Monday. She replaces Sra. Rios, who has taken a medical leave for the remainder of the school year.

Mrs. Hajdu taught Spanish last year at Land O'Lakes High School.

She has a B. S. degree in Business Management from Rutgers University. She worked in international business in Manhattan for about 20 years. She was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and attended Sta. Maria Goreti High School, a school in Colombia which was run by Franciscan Swiss nuns. She came to the U. S. about 30 years ago. She and her husband have two boys, who are twins and are 8½ years old.

Mrs. Hajdu is certified to teach Spanish, K-6, and ESE. She is currently teaching both Spanish I and Spanish II. She says she enjoys teaching Spanish very much, as it is her native language. She also speaks some French and Hungarian.

(Interesting fact: Gulf High School now has two teachers who are from Colombia. Mrs. Gabay, who teaches math, was born in Cartagena.)
