Gulf band honors victims of terrorist attacks

The Gulf High School band honored the victims of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington at the Gulf vs Wesley Chapel football game on September 18.

Students wore red, white, and blue clothes instead of their band uniforms. Before the band played the national anthem, two students played "Taps" and a moment of silence was requested.

Small U. S. flags were given to people who attended the game.

The Gulf-Wesley Chapel football game was played four days after it was originally scheduled. The postponement was caused by Tropical Storm Gabrielle, which closed schools in Pasco county on September 14.

In the photo above, the band students are arranged to form the letters USA, although it's difficult to see the effect because the photo was taken from the visitors' side of the stadium.
