Gulf's CAPA members meet with the faculty

GULF HIGH SCHOOL, Nov. 1, 2004. - Members of Gulf High's CAPA team were introduced at a faculty meeting in the band room today. Afterwards, they met with the individual learning communities to which they are assigned.

CAPA, which stands for Career and Academic Partners in Action, is a school-based learning community advisory committee of business people and educators which promotes the infusion of authentic career related experiences in all discipline areas through a range of activities where students and employers interact directly on the school campus or in the workplace.

Peggy Green heads the program at the district. The co-chairpersons at Gulf High School are John Gallagher and Kathy Trapp.

The CAPA members are: Mary Alicea, Lori Kalman, and Dan Johnson (Institute of Business and Techology); Marjorie Golub, Janel Norton, and Gloria Tyndall (Institute of Communication and Arts); Keri Deren, Gennie Ginsberg, Tim Spitzer, and Jason Taliaferro (Institute of Health and Human Services); and Jim Duffy, Doug Baker, Bipin Parikh, and Jeanne Whitaker (Institute of Technical Sciences).
