
Student photographed space shuttle launch from Gulf campus
The contrail from Columbia is visible from Gulf High SchoolGULF HIGH SCHOOL, Feb. 13, 2003. - Britney Parlett, a ninth-grade student in Mrs. Barrus' class, photographed the space shuttle Columbia as it was launched on January 16.
The space shuttle launches are usually visible from outside Mrs. Barrus's classroom, which is on the east side of the main Gulf High School building.
She allowed her students to go outside at the time of the launch last month, and Britney took the photo which appears above. The bicycle racks, which are on the northeast corner of the main building, are in the bottom of the photo. Detail of the photo appears below.
