| GULF HIGH SCHOOL, Nov. 9, 2005 - Tiara Cook's family members and teammates were present this afternoon to congratulate her for winning a $26,000 four-year athletic scholarship to the University of Tampa. As a junior last year, Tiara was named by the Tampa Tribune the Pasco County girls basketball player of the year. On January 6, 2005, she scored her 1,000th career point. Tiara, who is 17, is the daughter of Monique Ellis of New Port Richey, who was also a standout basketball player, at Clearwater High School. |
