Mr. Imerson talks to seniors about graduation

Mr. Imerson answers a student's question about graduation procedures

GULF HIGH SCHOOL, May 12, 2003 -- The guest speaker in Mr. Feldman's fifth period class today had no trouble keeping his audience's attention.

The speaker was Gulf High Principal Thomas Imerson and the topic was graduation.

Mr. Imerson's talk covered about everything students need to know about what happens during the next two weeks.

This week marks the final week of classes for seniors. Next week, they do not come to school on Monday but they do come on Tuesday and Wednesday for graduation practice and Friday for the actual graduation ceremony, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Activity Center.

Mr. Imerson has been visiting all of the social studies classes last week and this week, and he expects to finish his talks with seniors tomorrow.

His talk today covered subjects ranging from how many tickets each student will receive to what a student is supposed to wear under his or her gown. Most of the topics he touched on have also been covered in a letter mailed to parents of seniors about six weeks ago.

He ended his talk today by asking students not to engage in pranks during their last few days at school, explaining that such behavior could prevent a student from participating in the graduation ceremony.
