Health Occupations (HOSA) news items - April 2003

GULF HIGH SCHOOL, April 27, 2003 -- Gulf High HOSA recently returned from the state conference held in Jacksonville, Florida where students from all over the state met and displayed their skills. Now, these students are involved in another BLOOD DRIVE and RELAY FOR LIFE. They are learning to give life to caring and caring to life!!!

Gulf High Health Occupations students enjoyed a wonderful celebration, given by Orchard Ridge Nursing center, as an end to their clinical rotation at the facility. The students appreciate the opportunity to perform their bedside nursing skills under the supervision of such a caring staff.

Morton Plant North Bay Hospital provided the opportunity for the students to shadow in eight departments. This has given the students great insight into the variety of health care careers. Students are now shadowing individually at health care facilities in the school's surrounding area.

Gulf High School is grateful to all those people at our community resources who have so willingly contributed to the education of students.

Coming soon: our blood drive on April 30 and the Relay for Life on May 2-3, 2003.
