Pinellas educators take a look at Gulf's learning communities

GULF HIGH SCHOOL, April 24, 2003 -- Teachers and administrators from four high schools in Pinellas County spent the day at Gulf High School today to see how our learning communities operate.

The photos below were taken in the Administrative Conference Room. In the first two photos, Mrs. Barrus is talking about the projects undertaken by the ICA learning community, which she heads.

The guests today were from Dixie Hollins, Lakewood, and Pinellas Park High Schools.

They are the second group of educators who have visited Gulf during this school year to see how the program operates here.

Gulf High School has four learning communities -- the Institute of Health and Human Services, the Institute of Communications and the Arts, the Institute of Business and Technology, and the Institute of Technical Sciences. The first learning community was established at Gulf in the 1995-1996 school year.
