Margaret Mercer obituary

MERCER, MARGARET M., 81, of New Port Richey, died Tuesday (Oct. 16, 2001) at Southern Pines Nursing Center in New Port Richey. She came here in 1971 from her native Chicago. She retired as a teacher from Gulf High School in New Port Richey. She was a graduate of Northeastern Illinois State University with a master's in English Literature and was an honorary member of Phi Beta Kappa. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, George Barkes, Webbers Falls, Okla.; two daughters, Dorothy Kathan, McHenry, Ill., and Susan Huju, Bigfork, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Thomas B.
