
Doug Stobbs named teacher of the year
Science teacher Doug Stobbs has chosen the Teacher of the Year at Gulf High School for the 2003-2004 school year. It's the second time he has won the honor, as he was also selected during the 1995-96 school year. The selection is made by a vote of the Gulf faculty.
Mr. Stobbs is in his thirteenth year at Gulf High School. He teaches Biology Honors and Anatomy and Physiology Honors.
He has a B. S. degree in Biology from the University of Akron and graduate work at the same university.
Mr. Stobbs was born in Columbus and grew up in Akron and Martin's Ferry, Ohio. He has a daughter, Angela, who is a junior in high school in Ohio. His hobbies are diving, woodworking, and marine tropical fish aquariums.
