Assistant Principal Patricia Haynes is temporarily in charge

The photo at left shows the peaceful transfer of power that took place on Sept. 20, as Principal Tom Imerson turned over control of things at Gulf High to Assistant Principal Patricia Haynes.

Mr. Imerson is expected to be away from school for about three weeks as he undergoes elective surgery.

The surgery involves his intestines and the Gulf High web site will spare you the details, which Mr. Imerson admitted in a memo are "not pretty."

In the same memo Mr. Imerson praised the administrative staff, who will be taking over his responsibilities. He also promised not to come back tanned.

Mrs. Haynes is the senior administrator at GHS, having been a part of the school since 1984.
